Tired but happy

Still chugging along. Work during the day for clients, flexing our advertising and design chops with a great group of people. Working at night with moving into the new place so I can get back to doing my art, and meet my personal deadlines for my art shows coming up.

So: tired because of all the work, crazy schedule, and lack of sleep, but happy because the kindness of family and friends is the best.

I will have photos of a finished studio…soon…SOON.

Sketchin on the choo choo – Skulls!

Playing with the “mirror” draw effect in sketchbook pro. For the symmetrically challenged like myself, this is faaaantastic! I draw only one side and the other reflects automatically – sweeet!

I have been working out the idea of a sugar skull coloring book with some educational blurbs about Dia De Los Muertos, so you might see a few more of these skully sketches ๐Ÿ˜‰

Just sketching on the train, on my ipad, using the app sketchbook pro.

Not so daily sketch

That bit of time on the train allows for more experimentation on the ipad. Not as satisfying as as analog, physical pencil to paper, but it keeps my drawing muscles going, very portable, and easy to fix when I get jostled by the tracks. Hopefully this will become a more common thing. We shall see.

Muffin & Mew 01

Since I started taking the metro, I have an odd block of time in the mornings and evenings for a quick sketch. It is time to tell the unfolding soap opera that is my cats. Muffin appears to me as a sweet, neurotic, tiny ball of cuddle.

Mew is beautiful, huge, strong, and mean as hell. Would anyone be interested in seeing more?

I made this on my ipad using the Sketchbook app – which is fun for sketching but not for comic making. Time for research. We shall see where these sketches on a train take me.
